Kilwell Toby Lures – World-Renowned All-Round Trout Lure

The Kilwell Toby is known around the world as one of the most effective all-round lures for trout, salmon, and a wide variety of predatory fish. Its signature slim profile creates a natural, fish-like swimming action that triggers aggressive strikes.

Each Toby is hand-painted by Kilwell Sports in New Zealand, with up to five coats of paint plus a protective clear lacquer. Paint is applied only to the convex side, so as the lure spins, it flashes and appears to change colour — perfectly imitating a darting baitfish.

When lake fishing, a faster retrieve gives the Toby its classic tight swimming action. In river current, the lure will flutter naturally, allowing a slower retrieve that keeps the lure close to the bank — right where big brown trout lie in wait.
